9/4/2023 0 Comments Freefall badge usmcAfter about 4 combat jumps you'll have it unlocked, i.e. I don't know if you mean it litteraly, but when you say 'it's what makes the badge worth working for.' the issue is you don't have to work for it. I understand that it is strong, being able to survive at 90kmp/h with a last second chute pull, but it's almost a requirement for paratroopers to bring this. I do understand where you are coming from, but as stated at the start, you are just bullet bait. What i do find very annoying is that i`m allowed to jump with a shovel on my back (and land safely /s ) but i`m not allowed to take a wrench instead of shovel - Why ? This, imo, is what makes the badge worth working for.Īlso been on the recieving end of this and, well, i`m ok with ,as it is. , yes, you are bullet bait with auto deploy ,but, the mechanics of this Freefall badge is something not in need of a rework -imo, numerous times i`ve, last second shute deployed, landed next to 3-5 oppersition players and whiped em out, i swear that i could acctually see the look of total surprise on their cartoon faces. I feel as though you should be able to use other badges, as free fall is almost essential nearly all the time, which basically leaves paratroopers without a badge slot. Taking what you said as example, taking nimble. Well it's not so much heavy set is essential, I feel as though that slot could go to something much more than just choosing when you can pull your parachute. Tho i still maintain that HS isnt an essential, there are ways to mostly avoid snipers, HS doesnt help much in cqc vs automatics (about 0.1 seconds extra life) and medkits are a thing if you do survive, hearing enemy, spotting them, shooting first will all serve you better in cqc. Think of freefall badge as a game balancer, a few good paras can virtually win a game in minutes against a badly organised team of noobs, less in the way of combat badges limits paras some - game balance/fun has to work for all, even noobs ) Heh, ive only got para on US, there has always been this amount of 0HK snipers as far as im concerned :D โพสต์ดั้งเดิมโดย Comgal: pretty big annoyance based on the increase on OHK snipers. Of course that is just my opinion, other people may like the experience, but as someone who always ran heavy set and played germany this is a pretty big annoyance based on the increase on OHK snipers. I am taking my origional statment from the view of American and USSR paratroopers, as there are a lot of DE infantry snipers in staged.Īnd regarding the last part, although that makes sense, Reto have previously stated that they want to find a balance between fun and realism, I feel as though being a sitting duck for enemy snipers isn't fun, hence it should be changed. I use the free fall badge on germany due to the lack of enemy OHK snipers maning I have never actually used heavy set on him. I have a decent ammount of experience of paratrooper I believe I have a level 12 paratrooper for germany. If I was to sacrafice the freefall badge in order to counter infantry snipers, I would only end up making it out of the plane, and not even reach the ground. Once landed it makes it really hard to rotate between points when using the freefall badge. Well to give you a background behind my reasoning is that I recently bought a US paratrooper, and a lot of the enemy germans that are infantry use OHK rifles. Should point out tho that ALL para jumps in WW2 were static line jumps, no one actually had any choice on when to pull (didnt need to as only sent paras in when had air superiority, hence GE paras were infantry from about 42 onwards), so thats already a bonus. Yeah, i know that, but most of his problems with snipers and needing a badge slot for heavy set is just laziness, my para doesnt have HS, and snipers are rarely a problem, being a para means most of the sniper problems (dying on the way to a point) are irrelevent.Įven with vet i prefer freefall and nimble gold, a silent para just 'appearing' on point. โพสต์ดั้งเดิมโดย Catweazle:i think what OP is trying to say, is, that the choice to Freefall should not be dependant on a Badge. 9/4/2023 0 Comments Project eve releaseWithin battle, you will obtain Beta Gauge through parrying and evading, which you can then use to gain skills for upgrade moved and abilities. Her motion fluidity doesn’t end there, as you scour the environment with swinging across poles and scaling walls, among many other actions. Once you find a flow, you will build up a spectacular display of combos with parries and acrobatics. As for yourself, EVE’s manoeuvrability (especially in combat), it is designed to be agile and fluid. EVE also seems to be in contact with another throughout the trailer and has a little drone companion, the entirety of what the drone can do is unknown but it will likely help in some combat situations and to bypass obstacles throughout the world possibly?įor the enemies, as mentioned above, the combat seems quite patterned so strategy would be required to time your attacks precisely and to keep on top of things because of the quick-time events that trigger when it comes to pulling off that finisher move. These enemies also have some sort of possessing or mimicry abilities. The NA:tives look to have a Lovecraftian-cross-Soulsborne inspiration (possibly even some Dead Space vibes if you look at their design and certain traits) with their appearances as well as their move sets such as the mostly patterned fight styles. What we do know so far is a baseline of the story which seems to go along the lines of EVE who is likely an android of sorts (or possibly some sort of superhuman?) who was part of a paratrooper squad from the Colony sent to claim back Earth from the NA:tives the alien-like invaders. There isn’t much known about this fantastic-looking title at the moment as SHIFT UP has managed to keep this on the down-low and leak-free since its original mention back in 2019. It is semi open-world, action hack ʼn slash game set in a sci-fi, post-apocalyptic world with grotesque and somewhat Lovecraftian-style monsters. Project EVE is an ambitious project that you could pretty much sum up as a combination of Bayonetta and Nier with a splash of Sekiro packed into a box of cyber-fantasy. SHIFT UP Corporation, the South Korean developer & publishing company founded by Hyung-Tae Kim (character designer for the War of Genesis series and Magna Carta game series), have really outdone themselves with this one. To say that I am excited for this game would be a lie. Is anyone else getting cyber-fantasy, Korean Bayonetta vibes with this? Here is what we know so far. It’s not just that you’re on the other side of the road (although this was one of the hardest things to get used to!) – it’s that all the rules and signs are different. Everything is different about the roads here. Was it important for you to get lessons here?Ī: Yes absolutely. You said that you’d driven in Syria for many years. G: So next you moved on to thinking about your practical test. To be clear – you can only listen to the test in English, not your first language. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who’s still learning English. You have to request in advance if you want to listen to the test as well as read it. This way if I didn’t recognise a word written down, I might understand it when I heard it. It really helped during the test to wear headphones and listen to the questions as well as read them. I passed the theory test second time around. The resource costs around £25 and was really worthwhile. What really helped me was a resource that CHARIS Community Sponsorship Group purchased from ABEL Drive for Life which enabled me to read the questions in English and then listen in Arabic while I studied. How much did you study?Ī: 2 months after I arrived, I began studying 3 hours a day at least 3 days a week for around 3 months. A lot of the vocabulary in the theory test is very specific! The other barriers were affording lessons and being able to understand the examiner in the practical test. The theory test has more than 1000 questions and you have to take the test in English. G: What challenges did you face to get a driving licence?Ī: The biggest challenge was the language barrier. I’m a key worker and if I wasn’t able to drive, I don’t know how I would have been able to keep working. There’s not much public transport beyond the town centre here.ĭuring the coronavirus pandemic, having a car enabled me to get to work safely. We live in a small town in the UK and I very quickly realised that I needed a car. If I wanted to continue driving after that point, I needed to obtain a UK driving licence. Under UK law, I was allowed to continue driving in the UK using my Syrian licence for 1 year. When I arrived in the UK, I had a valid Syrian driving licence. Why was it so essential that you pass your driving test within your first year here?Ībdullah: I’d driven in Syria for many years. Gordon: You passed your driving test 10 months after arriving in the UK. 9/3/2023 0 Comments Castmaster reel oldBoth types can be made of cork, EVA foam or other materials, and both can be solid from behind the reel all the way to the butt cap, or they can be made in a split grip fashion that exposes a portion of the blank. Spinning rod handles are also straight but have no trigger, because the “stem” of the reel that connects it to the reel foot allows an anglers to retain a solid grip with multiple fingers in front of and behind it. The handle can be a “pistol grip,” although those were more common on shorter rods decades ago, and now most baitcasting rods feature straight handles which make two-handed casting easier. A baitcasting rod usually has a “trigger” underneath the handle so that an angler has something to grab onto while he or she palms the reel. spinning reels are different, the rods are different too. That’s not the case with baitcasting reels, so an angler who uses the “wrong hand” might not be able to borrow one from a friend. On most spinning reels, the handle can be quickly and easily switched from left to right, or vice versa, to accommodate an angler’s preference. On a baitcasting reel, when the angler adds forward propulsion, the weight of the lure pulls the line and the spool spins. On a spinning reel, the spool stays in a fixed position and by opening a bail the line is allowed to flow out toward the first guide. A baitcasting reel, on the other hand, sits atop your rod and flush with the reel seat. With spinning gear, the reel sits below the rod handle, attached by an extended handle that hangs it several inches down. When gripping a baitcaster place your thumb on top and your index finder under the reel. With improved technology and the rise of equipment dedicated to “bait finesse” those distinctions are no longer as clearly defined. Furthermore, baitcasters weren’t capable of casting super-light lures. Part of the reason was that spinning reels didn’t always have adequate spool capacity for heavier lines, and on baitcasters light line could get behind the spool and cause horrific tangles. Anything below that line commanded spinning tackle, and anything above it called for baitcasting gear. Traditionally, many freshwater anglers set the line of demarcation at 10-pound test monofilament or fluorocarbon, or a braid of similar diameter. Their uses may overlap, but in many cases one is better than the other. Unless you’re exceptionally hardheaded, if you fish in freshwater you need to have a mix of the two. Some of the world’s best tournament anglers, like Mike Iaconelli and Brandon Palaniuk, have made hundreds of thousands of dollars with spinning tackle that was once derisively referred to in some quarters as “sissy sticks.” Spinning tackle can subdue everything up to and including the biggest marlin and tuna, but that doesn’t mean it’s always the right choice, nor is baitcasting gear. That typically means starting with a push-button (AKA, “spincasting”) model, then moving to a fixed spool spinning reel before finally graduating to a level wind baitcaster. While a spincaster is reserved for new anglers, spinning reels and baitcasting reels are both used by experienced anglers, which is the source of the debate of baitcaster vs. There’s a generally-accepted premise that freshwater anglers move from the least complex form of fishing reel types to the most difficult to master as they progress in the sport. Jedi Academy easily earns its place as one of the best Star Wars games to come out of the LucasArts era. Still, once fixed, going at it as Jedi in groups of six should be fun, as evidenced when I tested out the modes using bots.ĭespite being no longer canon, Jedi Academy is filled with recognisable faces from the Star Wars universe. As widely reported upon, the main issue is that crossplay has been accidentally made possible with the PC version, meaning that turning the camera on Switch simply can’t compete with others’ reaction times. Unlike Jedi Outcast, the multiplayer mode for Jedi Academy has been included this time around but it’s not without its problems. The ending will change depending on what you pour points into, but take my advice and upgrade force heal ASAP – it’ll save you a lot of trouble. It’s here where you can invest in dark or light-side force abilities between missions. As with your lightsaber, you’ll unlock a sizeable suite of guns on your journey, but really driving progression is the inclusion of a slight morality system. Small enemy hitboxes are still a problem, but this Nintendo Switch version’s subtle motion controls help offset the frustration somewhat. Shooting is still a necessity every now and then in Jedi Academy, mainly when you need to pick off enemies at a distance or a story instance deems it necessary. Unlike prior Jedi Knight games, this journey begins by having you select your gender, race, outfit, and lightsaber colour. New lightsaber and force abilities are unlockable as the campaign progresses, but generally, despite combat sometimes being floaty, Jedi Academy excels in making you feel like a master of this weapon. Slashing your lightsaber is a simple case of tapping the ZR button, but you’ll soon get addicted to throwing it at enemies using ZL. Whereas the latter felt very dated from a design standpoint and required you to wrestle with gun aiming and tiny enemy hitboxes, Jedi Academy lets you get to grips with your lightsaber immediately. What’s great about Jedi Academy compared to last year’s re-release of Jedi Outcast is that it leans on its strengths right away. It’s a cool approach as far as continuing the story beyond Return of the Jedi and the other Jedi Knight games go, one that sees you undertake several space-spanning operations in pursuit of a mysterious Sith cult, the Disciples of Ragnos. Here you create your own character, Jaden Korr, who begins his/her path to becoming a Jedi by training under Katarn’s and Luke Skywalker’s wing. Whereas previous games in the Jedi Knight series saw you play as rebel-turned-Jedi Kyle Katarn, Jedi Academy originally released in 2003 gives players a new approach. One minute you’re rescuing hostages, the next you’re fleeing from a Rancor. The missions in Jedi Academy are extremely varied. Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is a prime example, delivering fun lightsaber combat, a deep story and now some nice, tidied up visuals. It’s a good thing, then, that Star Wars games from the early ’00s aren’t just good, but genuinely some of the best Expanded Universe (EU) content ever released. But while the glitzy spectacle of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is reserved for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, those wanting to enjoy Jedi antics on Switch must make do with ports of pre-existing titles. You wait so long for a decent Star Wars game to release under EA’s watch, and you get a whole bunch suddenly dropping at once. |
